These Terms of Use apply to your use of Aussie Hikers (aussiehikers.com and related addresses), a website published by Compass Point Digital ("we", "us", "our"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What Aussie Hikers is

Aussie Hikers is an independent online directory of walking tracks, hiking experiences, guided tour operators and hiking groups in Australia, together with general guides about bushwalking. We aren't a park agency, tour operator or emergency service, and we're not affiliated with any government agency unless we say so.

2. Information only, not safety advice

The content on this site is general information only. Track conditions, closures, fees, permits, weather and access change often and without notice. Inclusion of a walk does not mean it's open, safe or suitable for you on a particular day. Before any walk, you must check the official source (usually the managing park agency), current alerts, the weather forecast and the fire danger rating, and make your own judgment about your fitness, experience and equipment.

Hiking involves inherent risks, including injury, illness, getting lost, extreme weather, bushfire, wildlife and death. You take part at your own risk.

3. Accuracy

We take care to check listing details against official sources and record the source on each listing. However, we don't guarantee that any information is complete, accurate or current. If you spot an error, please tell us via the Contact page.

4. Third-party listings and links

Some listings describe commercial operators or community groups. We don't endorse, operate or guarantee any third-party service, and any booking you make is between you and that provider. Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We aren't responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

5. Advertising and paid listings

The site may display advertising, including Google AdSense, and may offer paid or featured listings to operators. Paid placement is always labelled and doesn't affect our editorial descriptions of official track facts. See our Advertising Policy for details.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• copy, scrape or republish substantial parts of the site without permission;
• interfere with the site's operation or security;
• submit false, misleading, defamatory or unlawful content through any form;
• use the site for any unlawful purpose.

7. Submissions

If you send us information (for example a listing suggestion or correction), you confirm that it's accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it. You give us a non-exclusive licence to use, edit and publish it on the site. We may decline or remove any submission.

8. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the site's text, design and original content are owned by or licensed to Compass Point Digital. Park names, trademarks and third-party images belong to their respective owners.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compass Point Digital excludes all liability for any loss, damage, injury or death arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded. Where our liability can't be excluded but can be limited, it's limited to resupplying the relevant information.
